Q1: What age is this brush for?
A: The six years and over age band. Ebisu makes separate versions for younger children, including a two to six years version, with different head sizes and bristle specifications.
Q2: Why does the age band matter?
A: Head size, handle length and bristle specification all change with it. A six year old's mouth and grip are different from a three year old's, and around six the first permanent molars arrive at the back of the mouth, which changes what the brush needs to reach.
Q3: Can I choose the design or colour?
A: No. Ebisu ships these in assorted designs and colours, assigned at random, so the brush you receive may differ from the photograph.
Q4: How often should I replace it?
A: Every three months, or sooner if the bristles begin to splay. Children often need replacements more frequently because they chew the bristles.
Q5: Should my child brush unsupervised?
A: Supervise brushing at this age. Children generally need help reaching the back molars properly and managing the full two minutes.
