What is centella, and why is it in so much Korean skincare? A
: Centella asiatica, also known as cica or gotu kola, is one of the most researched botanicals in skincare. It is prized for helping skin feel soothed, calm, and comfortable, which is why it appears in so many K-beauty formulas for sensitive skin.
What is TECA? A:
TECA refers to the four key active compounds found in centella: madecassoside, asiaticoside, madecassic acid, and asiatic acid. Including them alongside the extract concentrates centella's soothing character.
Is this cica cream heavy? A:
No. It uses an oil-in-water gel texture, so it seals in moisture and forms a soft protective layer while still absorbing quickly and feeling lightweight.
Who is it best for? A:
It suits most skin types and is especially nice for normal or sensitive-looking skin that wants soothing hydration without weight. It also sits well under makeup.
How is it different from the Centella Soothing Cream? A:
They are separate products with different formulas. This Centella Cream is built around TECA and panthenol with a light, moisture-sealing gel texture, while the Soothing Cream is a jelly-gel formula with ceramides and cholesterol.
