IM FROM Rice Serum 30 ml
Product Description
I'm From builds products around a single ingredient at a high percentage, and the Rice line is the one the brand is best known for. This serum leads with 73 percent Aspergillus and rice germ ferment extract filtrate, which sits first on the ingredient list rather than appearing somewhere in the middle as a marketing gesture.
The fermentation is the interesting part. Aspergillus is the mould genus used in Japanese and Korean food production for sake, soy sauce and miso, and fermenting rice germ with it breaks the material down into smaller components, including amino acids and sugars. That is also why the ingredient appears as a ferment filtrate rather than as a plain rice extract.
Around that base the formula is unusually well populated for a single ingredient product. Niacinamide appears high on the list, along with squalane as an emollient, panthenol and allantoin as conditioning agents, madecassoside from centella asiatica, glutathione, and hyaluronic acid in both hydrolysed and sodium hyaluronate forms. The texture is a light white serum rather than a thick one, and the pH sits at 6.0 plus or minus 1.0.
The formula is vegan and cruelty free, and made without parabens, sulfates, alcohol, mineral oils or essential oils. The absence of essential oils is worth noting, because it removes one of the more common causes of reaction in otherwise gentle products.

Made In
South Korea
● The lead ingredient is first on the list at 73 percent, not a token inclusion further down
● Fermentation breaks the rice germ into smaller components including amino acids and sugars
● Niacinamide appears high on the list and is among the best tolerated active ingredients in skincare
● Squalane gives the formula an emollient without heaviness, so it suits oily skin as well as dry
● Free from essential oils, which removes one of the more common causes of reaction in gentle products
● Light texture layers easily under a moisturiser or sunscreen
1. Cleanse and apply your toner, then work on skin that is still slightly damp. A serum spreads further and absorbs better on damp skin.
2. Dispense two to three drops into your palm or onto your fingertips.
3. Pat it across your face rather than rubbing it in, working outward from the centre.
4. Press gently over the whole face until it absorbs. The texture is light, so this takes under a minute.
5. Follow with a moisturiser to seal the step.
6. Use morning and evening. Apply a sunscreen during the day as the final step of your morning routine.

I'm From is a South Korean skincare brand built on a simple premise: lead each product with one ingredient, at a high enough percentage to sit first on the list, and name where it comes from. The range covers rice, honey, mugwort, beet and vitamin lines, and the Rice line is the one the brand became known for internationally, particularly the Rice Toner. The formulas tend to be short, gentle and free of essential oils and alcohol, which has given the brand a following among people with easily irritated skin. C&C Cosmetics carries the range for Canadian customers.

A: It means the fermented rice germ extract makes up 73 percent of the formula and sits first on the ingredient list. In many products a headline ingredient appears far down the list in a trace amount, so the position matters as much as the number.
A: Fermentation with Aspergillus, the mould genus used in sake and soy sauce production, breaks the rice germ down into smaller components including amino acids and sugars. That is why the ingredient is listed as a ferment extract filtrate.
A: Yes. The product is vegan and cruelty free.
A: Yes. The texture is a light serum and the emollient is squalane rather than a heavy oil, so it works on oily skin as well as dry.
A: The toner is the product the brand is best known for and is a different step in a routine. The serum is more concentrated and goes on after the toner. Many people use both.
