Lavons made its name in Japan on laundry products built around perfumery rather than around generic freshness, and the room fragrance range applies the same thinking to a space. Luxury Relax is the warm floral in the line, and it is composed in three parts the way a perfume is.
Gardenia opens it. Underneath sit rose, muguet, vanilla, jasmine and violet, which is a substantial floral heart rather than a single note. The base is wood, amber and musk, and that base is what makes it a room fragrance rather than a quick spray: heavier molecules evaporate more slowly, so the scent persists through the day and across weeks instead of fading within hours.
The format is a gel in a frosted glass jar. That is the least demanding of all the room fragrance formats. Reed diffusers need the reeds turning and can spill. Candles need supervision and must never be left burning. Plug-ins need a socket. A gel jar needs opening and placing somewhere, and then it works on its own for up to forty five days.

1. Choose where it will sit before opening it. A shelf, a windowsill out of direct sun, or a hallway surface works well.
2. Remove the outer packaging and the inner seal from the jar.
3. Place the jar upright on a stable, level surface. The gel needs to sit level to diffuse evenly.
4. Leave it to work on its own. The scent builds over the first few hours and then holds.
5. Keep it away from direct sunlight, radiators and other heat sources, which make the gel evaporate faster and shorten its life.
6. Replace it after one to one and a half months, or when the scent begins to fade. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
