Blotting paper solves a specific problem that powder cannot. By the middle of the day a combination or oily complexion has produced surface oil, and the instinct is to reach for powder. But powder added on top of oil does not remove the oil, it absorbs into it, and the result over several applications is a thick, cakey finish that looks worse than the shine did.
A blotting sheet does the opposite. Pressed against the skin it lifts the oil off and takes it away, leaving the makeup underneath where it is. If you then want powder, you are powdering clean skin rather than oily skin, which is why the finish is completely different.
These sheets are charcoal infused, from Ariul's 7 Days line, and come eighty to a pack in a slim case. Eighty is a working quantity: a sheet or two per touch up through a day means a pack covers a month or more of regular use. The format is designed to live in a pocket or the inside pocket of a handbag rather than in a bathroom cabinet.
