Overview

Product Description:

There is a reason Japanese facial razors dominate this category. Kai has been making blades since 1908, and the expertise from its cutlery and surgical blade business also goes into its disposable face razors. The edge quality is the difference between a razor that shapes cleanly and one that drags.

The Pretty range is Kai's facial razor line, and the L size gives a slightly longer handle for control. The head is small enough to work around the brow line without taking off more than you intend, and the same razor handles the fine hair along the jaw, upper lip and hairline. Used flat against the skin at a shallow angle, a dermaplaning razor of this type also lifts the layer of dead surface cells, which is why makeup tends to sit better afterwards.

A three-pack matters because blade sharpness keeps shaving safer. A dull facial razor drags and nicks. These are inexpensive enough to replace often rather than using one past its useful life.

Got questions? We’ve got answers!

Q1: Will the hair grow back thicker?

No. Shaving cuts the hair at the surface and does not change the follicle. Regrowth can feel blunter because the tapered end has been cut off, which is how the myth started.

Q2: Can I use it on the rest of my face?

Yes. The same razor handles the upper lip, jawline, cheeks and hairline. Many people use it primarily for that rather than for brows.

Q3: Is this the same as dermaplaning?

The technique is similar to dermaplaning, done at home. Held flat at a shallow angle, the blade lifts fine hair and the layer of dead cells on the surface. Professional dermaplaning uses a different blade and a trained hand.

Q4: How often can I do it?

Once every week or two suits most people. More often than that and the skin does not get a chance to settle.

Q5: How many uses per razor?

It depends on how much area you cover, but replace it as soon as it starts to drag rather than counting uses. Three to a pack is designed around that.
