The peripera brow pencil has an ultra-fine retractable tip, so there is no sharpening and no waiting for the point to come back. You twist, draw short strokes in the direction the hair grows, and the marks read as hairs rather than a filled-in block.

Shade 01 Gray Brown is the cool-toned option. Warm brown pencils look orange against ash-toned or black hair, and grey brown is the answer to that. A spoolie on the other end softens the strokes once they are down, which is the step most people skip and the one that makes the difference. 1.     Brush the brow through with the spoolie first, following the direction the hair grows.

2.     Twist up a very small amount of the pencil. A little goes a long way with a tip this fine.

3.     Draw short, light strokes in the direction of hair growth, concentrating on sparse areas rather than the whole brow.

4.     Build up gradually. It is far easier to add than to remove.

5.     Brush through with the spoolie again to soften the strokes and blend them into your own hair.

6.     Retract the tip fully before replacing the cap.
