Kombucha usually means a bottle in the fridge and a fermentation you either trust or make yourself. Teazen kombucha takes a different route: the fermented tea is dried into a powder, packed into a stick, and turned back into a drink when you add water. No brewing, no bottles, no fridge space.
The powder is built on organic kombucha powder made from German organic kombucha tea, with pineapple juice powder giving the flavour. When it hits water it fizzes, so the result is a sparkling drink rather than a flat one. The colder the water, the more carbonation you get.
Each 5 g stick is 15 kcal with 0 g of sugar, sweetened with erythritol and sucralose instead. Alongside the kombucha powder sit fructooligosaccharide, black tea extract, vitamin B2 and a blend of twelve lactic acid bacteria strains.
The stick format is most of the appeal. Pineapple kombucha in this form goes in a bag, a desk drawer or a suitcase, and one stick in 250 ml of water is the whole preparation. Teazen is the brand that popularised powdered kombucha in Korea.
