Japanese pads are built around thinness in a way most Western brands are not, and the Slim Guard line is where Kao makes that case most directly. These are 25cm daytime pads with wings, 19 to a pack, at roughly 1mm thick.
The engineering goes into the absorption rather than the bulk. Kao's fast absorption sheet draws fluid in quickly rather than letting it spread across the pad, and a high-absorbency polymer locks it into the core so the surface stays dry to the touch. The top sheet has a cotton feel rather than a plastic one, and the back sheet is breathable to cut down on stuffiness through a long day. The wings hold the pad in position.
At 25cm these are the standard daytime length, suited to regular flow days. For heavier days the 30cm version gives more coverage, and the overnight versions run to 40cm. Each pad is individually wrapped in a printed design, which makes them easy to carry.
