KAO Liese Foam Hair Color Ice Bluege

$15.99 CAD

Description

KAO Liese Foam Hair Color Ice Bluege is a two-part oxidative hair dye in a cool blue-grey beige shade, applied as foam rather than painted on. The foam is massaged through the hair like shampoo, reaching the roots and back of the head without a brush. Made in Japan, the kit includes gloves and a rinse-off treatment and requires a 48-hour patch test before every use.

Overview

The reason Liese Foam Hair Color took over Japanese drugstores is the format.  Instead of mixing a cream and painting it on section by section, you combine two liquids in the bottle, pump out a foam, and massage it through dry hair with your hands. The back of your head, where home colour usually goes wrong, gets covered as easily as the front.

Liese Ice Bluege is a cool blue-grey beige, one of the coldest shades in the range.  The blue is there to cancel orange, and the beige keeps it from reading as a flat grey. It is a fashion shade rather than a natural one.

That means pre-lightening is essential. Blue and grey tones have no warmth to fight the natural red pigment in dark hair, so on unbleached hair you will get a faint cool cast at most, not the shade on the box. It is a proper oxidative dye with a hydrogen peroxide developer, and the safety steps come with that: a skin allergy test 48 hours before every single use.

Got questions? We’ve got answers!

Q:1 Do I really need to patch test every time?

A: Yes. Allergic sensitisation to hair dye can develop after years of trouble-free use, and reactions can be severe. Test 48 hours before every application.

Q:2 Will Ice Bluege show on dark hair?

A: Not without pre-lightening. Blue and grey tones have no warmth to fight the natural red pigment in dark hair. On unbleached hair you will get a faint cool cast at most.

Q:3 Is it permanent or semi-permanent?

A: Permanent. It is a two-part oxidative dye with a hydrogen peroxide developer.

Q:4 Is it ammonia-free?

A: No. Ammonia water is in the first liquid.

Q:5 Is it vegan?

A: No. The formula contains royal jelly extract, hydrolyzed silk and lanolin derivatives.
