KAO Liese Foam Hair Color Royal Brown

Liese Creamy Bubble Color is the range that popularised foam hair dye in Japan. Instead of a cream you paint on in sections, the two solutions are combined inside the bottle, shaken, and then dispensed as a dense foam that you massage in with your hands the way you would a shampoo. That makes the back of the head and the under-layers far easier to reach evenly, which is the usual failure point when colouring at home.

Royal Brown is a deep, cool-leaning brown. Like the rest of the range, it is formulated to counter the red and orange undertones that surface when naturally dark hair is lightened, so the result reads as a clearer, more muted brown rather than a warm coppery one. Depth of result will vary with your starting colour, hair condition, room temperature and how long the foam is left on.

The formula carries hydrolyzed silk and soft lanolin fatty acid as hair-conditioning components, plus royal jelly and berry extracts, and the kit finishes with a separate rinse-out treatment applied after shampooing. One box covers roughly shoulder-length hair; longer or thicker hair generally needs two.

1.     Carry out a skin allergy patch test 48 hours before every single use, following the enclosed instructions exactly. Do not colour your hair if you have any reaction.

2.     Bring the box to room temperature, between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius, for at least one hour before mixing. The foam will not form properly if the product is too cold or too warm.

3.     Put on the enclosed gloves. Add the contents of Solution 1 into the Solution 2 bottle and mix thoroughly as instructed.

4.     Squeeze the bottle to dispense the foam onto dry, unwashed hair. Apply generously.

5.     Massage the foam through with your fingers, working from the areas you want darkest through to the ends, until hair is evenly covered.

6.     Leave on for 20 to 30 minutes.

7.     Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear, then shampoo.

8.     Apply the enclosed rinse-out treatment, leave briefly, then rinse out and dry as usual.

Key Ingredients

●        Para-aminophenol, Toluene-2,5-diamine, Resorcinol, 2,4-Diaminophenoxyethanol HCl, 5-Amino-o-cresol: The oxidative dye precursors in Solution 1 that develop the shade.

Claims

●        This product contains ingredients which may cause an allergic reaction. Carry out a skin allergy test 48 hours before each use, including if you have used the product before.

●        Do not use on eyebrows or eyelashes, or if the scalp is broken, irritated or sunburned.
